What is neutral and does this position actually matter? This workshop examines what it means for the body to be in a neutral alignment, particularly with the spine, hips, and feet. This deep dive is perfect for a curious movers, yogis, movement educators, and dancers wanting to learn how dynamic alignment can improve and elevate their practice. In this workshop we will learn about examine the following:
• How to identify what a neutral spine is on your body and others
• Differences and considerations in anatomical variation
• How to train your eye to see differences in bodies
• General universal landmarks you can use to find alignment
• How to use opposition to create a neutral stable position, rather than trying to find a neutral position to find stability
• How it all ties together into your practice

Turnout from the Ground Up led by Alicia Head
This course looks at turnout from both a functional as well as an aesthetic perspective. It explores the idea that turnout is supportive and healthy if it’s understood in an integrated instead of compartmentalized way.
• How to teach turnout as a three dimensional, energetic experience
• How to teach turnout as three-dimensional, energetic experience
• Why accesss to turnout is unique to each body
• How to see what the bones do during the turnout process
• Why cueing is important
• How to improve technical efficiency with anatomical cueing

Ballet Coaching
The GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods were made by a principal ballet dancer, swimmer, gymnast, and rower named Juliu Horvath. The methods naturally lend itself to help dancers in a way that improves their dancing and helps them find how to get the most of out their bodies. The GYROTONIC® method is practiced by dancers in companies such as The Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, San Francisco Ballet & Boston Ballet, and many more. The natural spiraling movements and elongation principles help dancers find how to access their end range in a healthy way.
