I'm a passionate movement educator with over 12 years of teaching experience. I teach both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® classes in Louisville. I've had a career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and ballet instructor traveling around the US. I attended California State University of Long Beach for Dance. I have traveled across the US to train with different Master Trainers, seeking to bring high quality movement education here in Louisville KY. I have a passion for holistic movement education. I believe in strength training, mobility, breath work, while being mindful and coordinated in order to create health and wellness. I'm CPR/AED certified. On my free time I enjoy playing board games, rock climbing, and spending time with my dog Bolin. My first experience with the GYROTONIC® method was when I was just starting ballet at 18. I was fortunate to have ballet classes and cross training with Master Trainer Alicia Head. Alicia has had the pleasure of taken courses with Juliu Horvath, founder and creator of the GYROTONIC® method.I tried other movement disciplines such as yoga and Pilates but the system left a unique impression on me. The circular, continuous, spiraling motions gave me a new sense of freedom, coordination, and possibility. I could see how the classes were helping me with ballet eventually I was able to become a professional ballet dancer. I've had the pleasure of dancing with multiple ballet companies in the US including Milwaukee Ballet II, Lexington Ballet, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, and most recently Louisville Ballet. As a professional dancer, I enjoyed working with different dancers, choreographers, and teachers from around the world. I owe a great deal of my success as a professional dancer despite starting late because of the method. I have found that this movement system has given me more strength, balance, and wellness. I'm excited to share this joy of movement with others.
